M. Joyce Holterman, 91, long time South Superior resident died Wed., Apr. 30, 2014 in the Middle River Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Aug. 7, 1922 in Boxville, KY to Maude (Jenkins) and Morris Riggs. She grew up in the Detroit, Michigan area. She met and married Keith, after meeting him during WWII in Long Beach, CA.  Joyce retired from Superior Memorial Hospital as a ward clerk and later worked as a popular Walmart greeter.

She was active in the Douglas Co. Homemakers organization was a member of the East Duluth Church of Christ.

Joyce is survived by three daughters, Adona (Douglas) Rivord of Brooklyn Park, MN, Billie Holterman-Schniepp (Marlin) of Cottage Grove, MN, and Lauretta (Duane) Abrahamzon of South Range, WI; grandchildren, Desiree Bartels, Troy and Alona Rivord, Cody Schniepp, and Cole and Alex Abrahamzon; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Riggs of Henderson, KY; and a sister, Billie Dove Ware of Morganville, KY.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Keith and three grandchildren, Angela, Dalton and Travis.

Funeral service is at Downs Funeral Home, corner of Ogden Ave. & 19 ^th St., on Sat., May 3 ^rd at 2:00 p.m.  Visitation will be one hour prior with interment following in Calvary Cemetery.  Reception to follow burial at Shamrock Pizza, South Superior.

Pallbearers will be her three sons-in-law, Douglas, Marlin and Duane and three grandsons, Cody, Alex and Cole.
