Joyce Marie Larson, age 90, Superior, died on November 27, 2019 at Superior Rehabilitation Center.

Joyce was born on August 23, 1929, in Superior to Harry and Elizabeth (Haas) Jensen.  She graduated from Superior Central High School in 1947 and worked at Erickson Pharmacy.  On July 17, 1948, she married Raymond Larson, who had returned from serving in the U.S. Army during World War II.  Ray used to say he was "the luckiest guy in the world" to have her for his wife. They spent 59 years together raising their three children, enjoying wonderful times with Ray's nine siblings and their families, relaxing at their cabin on Long Lake and traveling.  Joyce was always very involved in the community.  While her children were young, she was a member of the Cooper School PTA, PTA Council and the YMCA Board.  Throughout her life, Joyce was very active at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, where she taught the Bethel Bible Series and was involved in the church circle. She also worked at Globe News for a number years.  When Joyce and Ray became grandparents, they would often visit their grandchildren, attend their activities and treasured any opportunity to get together as a family.  Joyce was incredibly proud of her children and grandchildren, their families and their successes in life.  Joyce also loved doing various crafts and playing games, cards and dominoes.  She especially enjoyed her Duluth domino group and games with her friends at Villa Rita.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray; her brother, Eugene Jensen; her son, John; son-in-law, Larry Tempelis; as well as Ray's siblings and spouses.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Jane Tempelis; son, Brian Larson; daughter-in-law, Nancy Larson; five grandchildren, Melinda Tempelis, Eric (Jenny) Tempelis, Peter (Anne) Tempelis, Michaela (David) Ward and Andrew (Lindsay) Larson; and 10 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.

Visitation and services will be held Sunday December 8th at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1924 Wyoming Ave. in Superior. Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m. with the service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church Building Fund. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the kind and caring staff at Superior Rehabilitation Center and St. Luke's Hospice for the care they provided Joyce.
