Judith "Judi" Faye Verkeyn, 79 of Superior, WI died on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, in her home with her daughters by her side.

She was born in Dec. 15, 1942, in Two Harbors, MN to Faye and Harold (Pearson) Hansen.

Judi married David Verkeyn on Aug. 5, 1966, in Duluth, MN. She was employed with the Superior Telegram and then as a teachers aid at the Family Forum Head Start for 28 years.

Judi was a former member of United Presbyterian Church.  She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Mike Swanoski and her husband, David.

Judi is survived by her daughters, Malinda Carlson, and Donna (Mike Statema) Verkeyn; her grandchildren, Tiffany, Brittany, Kahla, and Brandon; her great grandchildren, Madyson, David, Adrien, and Jaelyn; her brothers, Jim (Shelia) Hansen, Paul (Bonnie) Swanoski, and Mike (Diane) Swanoski and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Sept 24th from 1pm to 4pm in the community room at Phoenix Villa Community Room, 1001 Clough Avenue, Superior, with a small service and lunch provided after.
