Julie K. (Sampson) LaPorte, 38, of Superior, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in her sleep with her husband by her side, Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Essentia-St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.
Julie was born in Duluth on February 11, 1976 the daughter of William and Susan Sampson.
She graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1994. She married Luke LaPorte on May 9, 1998. Julie had worked for many years at the Keyport Lounge.
Julie enjoyed the Dragon Boat races and was captain of the Keyport Team. She was an avid Packer fan and Brewers fan and enjoyed traveling to Green Bay or Milwaukee for the games. She was very giving and held a number of fundraisers always working hard behind the scenes. She enjoyed being around people.
Her grandparents, Betty and Alois Ebmer and William and Margaret Sampson, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Luke; son, Trenton Sampson and grandson, Brian Sampson of Superior; her mother and father, Bill and Susan of Superior; sisters, Debbie Sampson and Pam (Tom) Middleton both of Superior; brother, Ken Sampson, of Superior; nieces and nephews, Colten, Chelsy, Chase, Conner and Tommy; mother and father-in-law, Bob and Sis LaPorte of Superior; sister-in-law, Theresa (Al) Barlau of Superior; brothers-in-law, Rob (Valerie) LaPorte of Red Wing, MN and Paul (Cathy) LaPorte of Superior; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17 from 11:00am until the 1:00 pm funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. in Superior. Fr. Andrew P. Ricci, of Cathedral of Christ the King, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
