June D. Barton, 100, of Superior, died Wednesday October 9, 2024, at Essentia-St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.

June was born in Iron River, WI on June 5, 1924, the daughter of Abram and Caroline (Shallow) Tharge.

She had worked in local bakeries and also cleaning apartments. June enjoyed doing home improvements, especially when it came to painting walls and furniture and hanging wallpaper. She enjoyed being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was known as "Grandma Goon."

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; grandson, William Hilger; 10 brothers and sisters; sons-in-law, Bill Jarchow and Doug Johnson; and grandson-in-law, Mark Booth.

June is survived by her daughters, Lori Jarchow of St. Stephen, MN, and Judy Johnson of South Range; grandchildren, Janice (Brett) Anderson and Chris Booth; great grandchildren, Nick Olson and Alex Booth and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 15th from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St. with Gary Banker as officiant. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
