June
Brown
April 6, 1927 – March 12, 2017
June Brown, 89, of Superior, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, surrounded by her family at St. Luke's Hospice in Duluth.
She was born in Hines, WI, on April 6, 1927, the daughter of Arthur and Mary Moller.
June was a woman of faith. She attended Bayside Baptist Church, was a former member of the New Life Singers at Cathedral of Christ the King, and stressed the importance of Christian values with her children and grandchildren. She hosted Bible clubs for neighborhood children for many years and formerly attended Spice of Life at Ogden Avenue Baptist Church and Bayside Baptist Church.
She enjoyed being active by swimming at the YMCA, biking, gardening, and beautifully maintaining her home. June had a contagious smile, a listening ear, and an encouraging heart. She enjoyed cooking and baking and had a gift for hospitality. She also was a caregiver of her husband Stanley for many years. Her children all agree, a better mother could not have been found.
In addition to loving people, June also loved animals, especially dogs.
She is preceded by her parents; first husband, Stanley Sawicki; second husband, Horace Brown; daughter, Katherine Sweney; granddaughter, Trinity Sawicki; brothers, Walter Moller and Roy Moller; and sisters, Esther Pelto and Lillian Berg.
June is survived by her children, Michael Sawicki, Superior, Stephen (Nancy) Sawicki, Palm Harbor, FL, and Barbara (David) Tunell, Superior; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Sandoz, Carol Stream, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Her visitation will be on Thursday, March 16, from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Bayside Baptist Church, Superior, with Reverend Tom Bush officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.
Following the committal service at Calvary Cemetery, the family invites everyone to a luncheon, back at the church.
Pallbearers are Michael Sawicki, Stephen Sawicki, David Tunell, Jase Tunell, Luke Tunell, and Mycah Prichard.
