June (Guimond) Mattison, 95, peacefully went to be the Lord on Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center, Superior.
She was born September 26, 1919 in Landen, N.D., daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Carrol) Guimond.
June married Wallace Hoff and had two children, Kay and Dennis, and later married Chester Mattison and had two daughters, Linda and Sandy.
June was a wonderful and very kind person. Anyone who met her loved her. She always loved all the people who visited her. She was a great mom and grandma and loved all her children and grandchildren so much! And we loved her!
June belonged to a sewing club for many years and they were still meeting with her at Villa-Marina. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, crocheting and craft projects. When she was living at home, if anyone stopped at her house, she would whip up a 4 course meal for them.
She loved clothes and looking good right to the end.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Chester Mattison; daughter, Kay Doyle; sister, Betty Smith; and half-brother, Doug Guimond.
Survivors include her son, Dennis Hoff; daughters, Sandy (Don) Piper and Linda (Tom) Young; grandchildren, Greg (Jill) Young, Tim (Sandy) Preston, Dennis Preston, Debbie Preston, David (Joy) Preston, Karen (Jon) Nettleton, Keith (Nancy) Hoff, Lisa (Kim) Piper, and Lindsey (Chad) Netherland; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren; half-sisters, Bonnie (Jerry) Larson and Debbie (David) Prevost.
Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Monday, October 6, 2014, at Cathedral of Christ the King, Superior. Reverend Father Andrew Ricci will be the celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Superior.
Following the committal service, everyone is invited back to the church for a luncheon.
Mom, you were the sweetest and most loving mom ever, and we are going to miss you so much.
