Karin M. Colby, 85 of Maple, WI, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Aspirus St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.

Karin was born November 30, 1940 to Marie (Bodin) and Swan Lundberg in Duluth, MN.

She married Arnie Colby February 15, 1958 at Gloria Day Lutheran Church in Duluth, MN. Karin was employed as a cook at the Maple Corner Elementary School for 25 years and then at Northwestern Elementary School until her retirement.  She also worked at the Oulu Branch Store.

She was a longtime member of the Cloverland Covenant Church, and The Old Brule Heritage Society where she served as secretary of both over the years. Karin was passionate about the community she lived in.

If you knew Karin, you recognized that her family was her world and her greatest pride. Her focus was on her children and grandchildren, spending time with them was at the top of her list.  Karin loved spending time with her family always welcomed visitors, you could always count on a fresh cup of coffee, cookie, and a loving welcome when you arrived, always ready for company and ready to catch up on the latest news. At all times she was up for a drive to visit neighbors and friends. She especially loved to galivant to town with her daughter Carolyn or granddaughter Emma. When not out galivanting you could find her at home watching the Hallmark Channel as this was one of her newest discoveries. Her favorite afternoons were spent playing dice with her sisters or the occasional adventure to the casino. She is missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arnie; her daughter, Denise Dahlen; her brother, Larry Lundberg, and her sister, Elaine Lundberg, long-time friend, Edward Walman, and brother-in-law, Marvin Colby.

Karin is survived by her children, Carolyn (Pat) Grube, Kenneth (Bonnie) Colby, and Roger (Tanya) Colby; her son in-law, Mark Dahlen; her grandchildren, Rachel (Jim) Romich, Jessica (Chris) Drahota, Jonathan (Toni) Grube, Anthony Colby, Nicolle (Brandon) Sande, Emma (Michael Pullen) Colby, and Derec Colby; her great grandchildren, Jillian, Axel, Jedidiah, Kendra, Otto, and Braelynn; her sisters, Liz Colby and Elsa Lundberg; bonus son William Koivisto.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 4-6 p.m. at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N. 34th St. Superior, WI.  A funeral service will be held Friday, May 22, 2026 with visitation at 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service at Lakeside Baptist Church, 3176 S. Middle River Road, South Range, WI.

Burial will be in the Maple Cemetery following the service.
