Kathleen 'Kay' Ann Maki, 84, died of natural causes on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Northern Lights in Washburn, WI.
Kathleen was born in Superior on April 7, 1936 the daughter of Arthur and Angeline (Graff) Peterson. She married Maynard Maki on Jan. 25, 1958 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church and they celebrated 59 years together until his death in 2017.
Kay worked as an x-ray tech for many years at St. Joseph's Hospital, Superior Memorial Hospital, and at the Giesen Clinic.
Kay loved making crafts. She and Maynard enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Iron River and wintering in Brownsville, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; grandson, Keith Maki; and brother, Wally Peterson.
Kay is survived by her two sons, Paul (Andrea Carroll) Maki of Brule and Dale (Terri) Maki of Brule; grandchildren, Hannah, Jenna, Jarret, and Brad; great-grandchildren, Bria, Maci, Aiden, Rylan, and Tucker; and sister-in-law, Betty Peterson.
A private family service will be held at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 th St. Burial will be in Iron River Cemetery.
If desired, memorials in Kay's name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
