Kathleen M. Flike's Obituary
Kathleen Martha Flike, 58 of Superior, passed away Thursday December 16, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospice in Duluth.
Kathy was born in Superior on Dec. 22, 1951 the daughter of Emily (Herubin) and Stanley Szymonowicz. She married James Steven Flike on Oct. 4, 1975.
She graduated from Cathedral High School and then went on to receive a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin Superior.
She had worked at the former Chromaline in Duluth in the photobrasive lab. She was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers football as well as the Milwaukee Brewers. She loved spending time in the country at the Crystal Lake Campground.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father and brother Robert "Bob" Szymonowicz.
She is survived by her husband of 35yrs, Steve; a daughter, Andrea (Sam) Doty of Lake Nebagamon and her mother, Emily "Babe" of Superior.
A memorial mass will be held on Tues., Dec. 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Cathedral of Christ the King Church with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant. Visitation will begin one hour prior.
The family would like to thank the St. Luke's Hospice staff, especially the nurses on 2 west ,for all their care and support, as well as Dr. Van Etta.
Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. is assisting the family with arrangements.
