Kathleen Ann Lintula, 96, lifelong Superior area resident, passed away on Wednesday September 23, 2026, peacefully surrounded by her family at Middle River Health and Rehab Center in South Range.

Kathleen was born in Superior on April 9, 1930, the daughter of Gus and Signe (Erickson) Swanson. She graduated from Superior Central High School with the class of 1948.

Kathy married Elmer Lintula on May 19, 1951, and they celebrated 65 years of marriage until his death in 2017.

She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and The Gideons International. She enjoyed caring for and encouraging others and in her later years rediscovered her passion for reading. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially time with her grandchildren. Kathy had worked as a bookkeeper, bank teller, and was the first kindergarten teacher at Maranatha Academy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Signe; husband, Elmer; son, Keith; twin brother, Kenneth Swanson; and sister, DeLores (Des) Kiaser.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Debra (Alan) Avery; sons, Mark (Glenda) Lintula and Jon (Vickie) Lintula; 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday October 24th from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Lakeside Baptist Church, 3176 Middle River Rd., South Range, with Pastor Chad Cracraft as officiant. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
