Kathleen Lynn (Geitner) Johnson, 50, of Superior, Wis. passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Kathy was born in Superior on March 6, 1960, the daughter of Ann (Lukas) and Everett Geitner.
She married David Johnson on October 1, 1983.
Kathy was a Registered Nurse working at St. Mary's Medical Center in Superior and Duluth for over 25 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed all the times with her close friends from work. She loved playing games, especially Scrabble. Kathy followed her mother's motto, "Can't beat fun."
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Geitner and father-in-law, Victor Johnson.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 27 years, David; son, Matthew K. Johnson of Duluth; father, Everett Geitner of Superior; brothers and sisters, Rosemary (Richard) Zowin of Elk River, Minn., Ronald (Jan) Geitner of Pueblo West, Colo., Sharon (Richard) Hoch of Superior, Sandra (Kermit) Frazier of Superior, Gary Geitner of St. Paul Park, Minn., Steven (Robin) Geitner of Hudson, Wis., Cindy (Tim) Hangartner of Eau Claire, Wis., and Paul (Stephanie) Geitner of Superior; mother-in-law, Iona Johnson of Sherman, Texas; brothers-in-law, Steven (Lori) Johnson of Sherman and Terry (Lacona) Johnson of Tom Bean, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Her visitation will be Mon., Nov., 15 from 4-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in the Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. & Ogden Ave. Visitation will continue on Tues. Nov., 16 from 11 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at Noon at Cathedral of Christ the King Church with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
