Kay L. Thatcher, 86, of Superior, died Thursday February 25, 2021, at Ecumen Lakeshore Assisted Living in Duluth.

Kay was born in Superior on May 30, 1934, the daughter of Oscar and Esther (Snyder) Hope.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society, and her sewing club. She enjoyed playing in sports leagues including softball, bowling, and golf. Kay also enjoyed playing cards, knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, and sewing. She loved dogs, was an avid Packers fan, and enjoyed spending time at the lake.

Kay loved attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting, music, and drama events and was at them whenever possible. She loved holiday and birthday celebrations.

Kay had worked at the Southdale Nursing Home for many years as a CNA and in medical records.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 67 years, Robert; and 8 brothers and sisters.

Kay is survived by her children, Lynn (George) Lehman of Lake Nebagamon, Ralph (Kathy) Thatcher of Merritt Island, FL, Debbie (Butch) Tendrup of Superior, Jay Thatcher of Superior, and Dawn (Ed) Anderson of Superior; grandchildren, Dr. Vance (Dr. Julia) Lehman, Bryce (Julie) Lehman, Luke (Amber) Thatcher, Dr. Lisa (JG) Lantigua, Hans (Sarah) Tendrup, Martina (John McCormick) Tendrup, Colton (Teri) Thatcher, Carly Thatcher, Erick (Tara) Anderson, and Nick (Samantha) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Elise, Emma, and Llyra Lehman, and Chase, Liam, Harper, and Quinn Tendrup, Silas and Haevyn Anderson, and Baby Thatcher due in April.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 6 ^th from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th St. Rev. Joel Certa-Werner will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
