Obituary

Keith George Miernicki, 82, of Saginaw, MN passed away in his home on Monday, July 14, 2025.

Keith was born June 6, 1943, to John and Myrtle (Gvesrude) Miernicki in Duluth, MN.

He grew up in the friendly West End of Duluth on Wellington Street and was proud of graduating from Denfeld High School as his father and his children did.  Keith served in US Army with the National Guard. He married Darlene Murphy on Feb. 24, 1968 in Duluth.

Keith was an electrician by trade, the owner/operator of the Saginaw Stove Works and a cut your own Christmas Tree business located on his farm.  Christmas tree cutting season was his favorite time of the year and he loved to help people to choose their tree.  He was passionate about dancing and continued teaching dance classes for many years.  Keith taught classes at the West Duluth American Legion, the community education and finally at the Proctor Moose.

He sold outdoor wood stoves including Heatmor and was a pillar at the Duluth Home Show every year.  Keith was known for his coveralls and giving free hugs to the visitors, he would count how many hugs he gave out each year.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lynn.

He is survived by his daughters, Karen (Bryan) Brandt and Kristine Miernicki; his brothers, Gary Miernicki and Mike (Cindy) Miernicki; his former wife, Darlene (Murphy) Wright; his special nephews, John and Mike Miernicki and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:30 until the 11:00 am funeral service on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the AAD Shrine Event Center, 5152 Miller Trunk Highway, Hermantown, MN.  Interment will be Thursday, July 24th at 2:00 p.m. in the MN State Veterans Cemetery in Saginaw, MN.  Military honors accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard.
