Kenneth K Kelleher, 73 of Superior, died Sunday, December 15 2013 at his home.
Ken was born in Superior on Sept. 28, 1940 the son of Jerome and Clara Kelleher. He was a 1958 graduate of Central High School.
He served his country enlisting in the Army and serving a tour of duty as an M.P. in the Panama Canal Zone.
Ken married the former Marie Wares on Sept. 16 1967 and they celebrated 46 years of marriage together.
After his military service he trained for the State Highway Patrol. He had been an instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studio and an artist for Brown & Bigelow in Minneapolis. He was a salesman for American Tobacco, retiring from U.S. Tobacco in 1995.
Ken was a member of the Douglas County Humane Society and a member of the Poplar Golf Course. He loved golf and was happiest when he was on the golf course.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gene, Merle and two infant brothers, Jack and Gerald.
Ken is survived by his wife, Marie; son, Kenneth Jr. of Burnsville; brothers, Robert (Dorothy) of Bennett and David (Phyllis) of Superior; aunt, Ethel Jensen Edwards; sisters-in-law, Doris and Nancy Kelleher; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Wed. Dec. 18 from 5-7pm and will continue on Thur. Dec. 19 from noon until the 1pm funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Steve Kelleher will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Douglas County Humane Society.
