Kenneth H. Raihala, age 92, of Superior, passed away Monday June 1, 2026, at the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth.
Kenn was born August 17, 1933, in Superior to Selina (Chisholm) and John Raihala. He served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955 reaching the rank of corporal with the 8th Calvary Regiment as a infantry rifleman and bandsman playing drums.
Kenn was a member and past president of the Duluth Engineer Club, Minnesota Inventors Congress and WITI where he was the chairman of the drafting committee. He enjoyed drumming, photography, tennis, skiing and wallyball. He was a car enthusiast, an inventor with multiple patents and a AAA baseball recruit.
Kenn was a vey patient and kind man who taught his sons how to build and fix just about anything. His hands were rarely still. He spent a lifetime of creating, building, repairing and improving. Whether he was working in the garage, the yard or helping a neighbor, he found satisfaction in making things better. Kenn built a family that loved him, friendships that lasted a lifetime and a reputation for dependability, generosity and hard work. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, his sons, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and many extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents Selina and John; Brother Ralph and sister Bernice
Kenn is lovingly survived by his wife Irena; his sons Kenneth, Donald and Daniel (Lesa) Raihala; granddaughter Sophia and grandson Henry.
Visitation will be Tuesday June 9 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Cathedral of Christ the King with Fr. Andrew Ricci officiating. Private family inurnment at Calvary Cemetery at later date.
If desired, memorials may be made to Cathedral School.
