Krista Ellen Peterson, 40 of Duluth, MN passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022, in her home.

She was born on March 17, 1981, in Duluth to Stewart and Joyce (Thompson) Peterson. Krista attended East High School. After high school she worked as a CNA. She was an animal lover her entire life. Her passion was horses. She graduated from the prestigious Lynn Palm Equestrian Schools. Krista excelled at achieving levels 1 through 4 of Dressage Principals, levels 1 and 2 of Versatility Riding, and the 1995 Versatility Resident Program. Krista won many awards competing in the horse world. Krista was a horse trainer and gave many lessons to all age groups. Krista was a Minnesota 4-H Horse Show judge, judging many horse shows over the years. Krista was also an associate movie producer attending the Independent Film Festival in Los Angeles, California, December 2008, the New York Film Festival 2009, and the Festival DE Cannes 2009 in France.

Krista was preceded in death by her uncles, Kenneth Thompson and Lance Peterson.

Survivors include her parents, Stewart and Joyce (Thompson) Peterson; her daughter, Ella Peterson; sister, Stacie (Mark) Lockhart and four children; her uncle, Steven (Lynn) Peterson; her aunt, Tina Thompson and numerous cousins and extended family members.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Our Redeemer's Free Lutheran Church, 2125 Missouri Ave., Superior, WI, Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation one hour prior to the service in the church.
