Laura J. (Brew) Bunnell, 51 of Lake Nebagamon, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 18, 2012 at her residence.
She was born in Superior on Aug. 5, 1960 the daughter of Mary and Robert Brew, Sr. She married Dennis Bunnell in April of 2004.
Laura enjoyed telling jokes and pulling pranks, she always was the life of the party. She was very crafty and artsy, and liked to draw and paint. Her favorite times during the year were the holidays and she would always decorate and dress up for them. Most important to her was taking care of the kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews. She loved animals and cared for and rescued many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mothers, Maxine Brew and Suki Brew; a brother, Francis Brew; niece, Lacey Gayken; and best friend, Susan Almer.
Laura is survived by her husband, Dennis; step-children, Lisa (Sajid) Chavez-Bunnell of Sarasota, Fla, Dennis Bunnell, Jr. of Superior, Kristi (Matt) Moos of Superior, Donald (Janelle Little) Bunnell of South Range, Kara Jo (Chris Kujava) Bunnell of Superior and Riley Gibson-Bunnell of Bennett; ten step-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, David (Bette Abrahamzon) Brew of Superior, Cindee (Scott) Archambault of Cloquet, Michael (Gracie) Brew of Superior, Kathleen (Chris) Maciejeski of Superior, Robert Brew, Jr. of Maple, Cheryl Brew of Superior, Nancy Brew Archibald of Superior, Jon Brew of Superior; step-sisters, Kathy and Wendy Quinn; step-brothers David and Jim Quinn; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets.
Visitation will be on Thurs. Feb. 23 from 6-8p.m. and resume on Fri. Feb. 24 from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Rev. Charles Plaster, pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be, George, John, Ron and Paul Bunnell, Jeremy Brown, Darryel Brannen adn Chris Kujava.
