Laverna Mae Pettis, 73, died Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Chris Jensen Nursing Home in Duluth.

Mae was born in Brainerd, MN, on February 6, 1943, the daughter of Eloia and Lucille Pettis.

Mae was employed by Goodwill Industries for several years before working at her dream job at UDAC.  Mae will be remembered for her love of Elvis music, knitting, coloring, doing her daily crossword books, helping disc jockey with her friend David, her sweet tooth, and her contagious smile.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and step-father, Carl Lee.

Mae is survived by her siblings, Shirley Anderson, Nisswa, MN, Deloris Pettis Hicks, Big Sandy, TX, and Orville Pettis, Toms River, NJ; several nieces, nephews and friends; the Morrison Family, Cloquet, MN who was her second family, and her very special friend, David Morrison, Duluth, MN.
