LaVerne Florene Hickok, 90, of Superior, Wis. passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010 in St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth, Minn.

LaVerne was born on July 14, 1920 in Barron, Wis., the daughter of Elizabeth (Patrie) and Joseph Folz.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-eight years, Wilfred; four sons, Marvin, Harold, Vyron and Clarence; daughter-in-law, Carmen; five brothers, Joseph, Henry, Edwin, Leslie and Wilmer; and two sisters Olive and Marie.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Leonard) Johnson of Superior; sons, Irvin Hickok (Igne Hayes) of Clarkston, Mich., Harley (Lila) Hickok of Superior, Harvey (Donna) Hickok of Superior; daughter-in-law Wendy Hickok of Superior; nine grandchildren, Carmen, Shawn, Shannon, Shane, Jeremy "Jay", Robin, Ryan, Tamara and Joe; two great-grandchildren, Carmen Joan and Alex; sister, Orleen Smith; sisters-in-law, Alma and Lousie Folz; and many nieces and nephews.

Her visitation will begin on Fri., Nov. 12th from 4-7 p.m. and will resume Sat., Nov. 13th from Noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Rev. Joel Certa-Werner of Faith United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Irv, Harley, Shane and Harvey Hickok and Lynn and Leonard Johnson.
