Laverne M. "Dode" Severson, 85, of Superior, Wis. died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 in Villa-Marina Health & Rehab Center.
She was born September 18, 1928 in Superior to Edward and Anna (Nelson) Olson.
She was employed by the former Monycor Bank for sixteen years, starting as a teller and retiring as Vice-President.
Dode was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed quilting at the Church. She also was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 403 and the Eastern Star at the former Itasca Lodge.
She is survived by a daughter, Peggie (Forrest) Wilson of Poplar, Wis.; two sons, John "Swede" (Becky) Severson of Superior and Tom (Karen) Severson of South Range, Wis.; four grandchildren, Corey and Jon Velin, Luke Severson and Angela Nelson; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Claire Erspaner of Hurley, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren and a brother, Robert "Bud" Olson.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Downs Funeral Home Chapel on 19th & Ogden Ave., with Rev Dennis Paulson officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Committal prayers will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Zion Lutheran Church.
Pallbearers will be Corey and Jon Velin, Luke Severson, Ron Nelson and John Severson.
