Lawrence Hjalmer Smith, 52, of Superior, died Friday, August 8, 2014 after a short battle with cancer.

Lawrence was born on May 3, 1962 in Superior the son of Betty Berling and Arthur D. Smith, Sr.

He was the owner and operator of L-N-M Trucking and Farms. His life was trucking. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Betty (Ed) Berling and Arthur Smith, Sr.; and a son Christopher Smith.

He is survived by his son, Hjelmere Smith; step-son, Richard Parsons; grandchildren, Isabelle Smith and Josiah "Joey", Dayton and Kingston Parsons; brother, Arthur D. Smith, Jr.; sisters, Kathleen "Kathy" J. Miller, Christina "Tena" (Mic) Fuller, Rose Ann Smith, Sandy (Rich) Lundberg, Rose Marie Hoffman and Sherri Larson; his former wife and special friend, Marie; and many nieces and nephews.

Larry's services will be held on Thurs. Aug 14, at 6pm at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Rev. G. Darrell Grant a Pastor of the Christian Missionary Alliance will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior. A reception will follow the service at Summit Town Hall.
