Obituary

Lee B. McPherson, 94, of Superior, Wis. died Mon., June 23, 2014 in Solvay Hospice House, Duluth, Minn.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of seventy years, the former Jean Arseneau; children, Martha Reiser of South Port, N. C. and her children, David (Ellen) Wortman, James (Emma) Wortman and Laura Wortman; Nancy (Bill) Tess of Green Bay, Wis. and their children, Nina (Matthew) Corya and Matthew (Renee) Pearson; Lucy (Dan) Nelson of South Range, Wis. and their children, Andrew Nelson, Katie (Jason) Vandekamp, and William Nelson; and Lee William McPherson of Roberts, Wis. and his son, Lee (Melanie) McPherson; eleven great-grandchildren, plus two more expected; a brother-in-law, Bob Curtis; and many nieces and nephews. Lee was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He was born May 14, 1920 in Superior to Eva (Williams) and L. R. McPherson. He graduated from Superior Central High School in 1938 and then joined the U. S. National Guard. In July of 1940 he enlisted in the U. S. Army Air Corp and served as a Military Occupation Specialist. Following his honorable discharge from service he attended Stout University, Menomonie, Wis. earning his Master's Degree.

Lee taught industrial arts in Cedarsburg, Wis., Grafton, Wis., and Superior. After his retirement from Superior Senior High School he and Jean spent winters in Arizona and summers in Lake Nebagamon.

Lee built their home at Lake Nebagamon where family and friends gathered for years making many great memories.

He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 403, and Superior Masonic Lodge No. 236 F&AM.

Lee was an avid golfer and very proud of his Hole in One in 1984. He was a loyal Packer fan, a shareholder and also owning a brick at Lambeau Field, that reads "PACA loves the Pack". Actually he enjoyed all sports.

He enjoyed a great life!

The family wishes to express a "very special thank you" to Tom and Ann Borich for their loving care.

If desired, memorials in Lee's name may be made to the Superior High School Scholarship Foundation or the Solvay Hospice House.

Private family services were held on Saturday.
