Leonard C. Moen, 76, of Foxboro, Wis. died Thurs. Sept. 17, 2009 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minn.
Leonard was born April 28, 1933 in Superior, Wis. and was a lifelong area resident.
Leonard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a millwright for A.D.M. (Archer Daniels Midland). He also raised Black Angus beef cattle on his hobby farm in Foxboro. He loved to work on his Allis Chalmers tractors. Leonard was also an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife, the former Rose Podgorak; his children, Len Moen of Superior, Mary Jo (Ken) Hawkins of Foxboro, Julie (Chris) Litchke of Superior and Joseph (Shelly) Moen of Foxboro; grandchildren, Chad and Brenda Danielson, Nicole Matson, Daniel and Emily Litchke, Chloe and Caleb Moen; great-grandchildren, Caden and Gracie; sisters, Luella (Herb) Day of Foxboro, and Carol (Edward) Hudacek of Superior; brothers, Ronald ( Linda ) Moen of Superior, Robert (Joanne) Moen of Foxboro and Dennis ( Michelle) Moen of Minneapolis, Minn.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes (Wojciechowski) and Leonard Moen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday in St. William's Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Daniel Kania and Rev. Fr. Ronald Olson concelebrating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Church. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Leonard, Joseph, Robert and Ronald Moen, Chris Litchke and Ken Hawkins.
Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. & Ogden Ave. is assisting the family with arrangements.
