Leonard 'Lenny' T. O'Brien, 52, of Superior, died Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at his residence, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born November 23, 1963, in Duluth, MN, son of Francis and Marilyn (Swanson) O'Brien.
Lenny worked for Laborers Union, Local #1091, Duluth. For many years he worked as a construction worker for Stack Brothers Mechanical and Lakehead Constructors, both of Superior.
He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and 4-wheeling. Lenny enjoyed spending time with family and his many friends. He was a hard worker and was always there to help others. Lenny was also known for his contribution to the 4th of July fireworks display at the family home on Lake Amnicon.
Preceding him in death was his father, Francis 'Frank' O'Brien.
Survivors include his mother, Marilyn O'Brien, Superior; sisters, Debra Kagie, Superior, Jodine O'Brien, Stillwater, MN, Wendy (Brian) Homstad, Duluth, and Cindy (Paul) Taraldsen, Duluth; brothers, Robbie (Kimberly) O'Brien, and Frank 'Finn' O'Brien, both of Superior; many nieces, nephews, a grandniece and a grandnephew; and his four-legged friend, 'Maggie'.
Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior. Pastor Jason Rhoads will officiate.
