Leonella “Lee” Carlton, age 84, of Duluth, MN, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Lee was born on December 12, 1941, in Duluth to Mary (Colalillo) and Patrick Sisto. She graduated from Denfeld High School in 1960. In 1964, she married Wayne Carlton, and together they built a life centered on family and community.

Lee dedicated 55 years to her career as a cosmetologist, working in several salons throughout the Duluth area. She had a passion for gardening, enjoyed many years of bowling, and was an active member of the Italian American Club. She also proudly served as a volunteer firefighter (Siren) with the Grand Lake Fire Department.

Known for her loyalty to family and her terrific laugh, Lee left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne; her brother, Eugene Sisto; her nephew, Michael; and many dear friends.

Lee is survived by her daughter, Leann (Jeff) Draxten; grandsons Alecs Draxten (Taylor) and Jordan Draxten; sisters-in-law Laurie Sisto and Brenda Carlton; brother-in-law Jantzen Carlton; and nieces Debbie, Heather, Kim, and nephew Tim.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. Memorial Service at Grace Lutheran Church, 5454 Miller Trunk Highway, Hermantown, MN.
