Obituary

Lila Mae Hoyt, 70, of Superior, died Thursday, January 28, 2016 at her residence.

Lila was born in Superior on May 8, 1945 the daughter of Leo and Emma Hoyt.

She enjoyed baking and making Jams and Jellies. She also made Beeswax candles and taught others to make them at Lester Park. She enjoyed traveling and had hitchhiked to just about every state. She loved her CB radio and went by the handle, 'Lonesome Raven'. She also loved going to Rendezvous and the dressing up and native history that went along with it.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon Archambeault Jr.; a son, Gordon Archambeault III; and a sister, Beverly Polaski.

Lila is survived by her children, Melvina 'Tootie' Nelson of Duluth, Patrick (Jenny Hamilton) McGrew of Superior, Sherrie McGrew of Superior, William (Dawn Willett) McGrew of Superior, Dale (Tamara) Archambeault of Superior, and Kelly Archambeault of Duluth; grandchildren, Leo, Jeremy, Greg, Preston, Pat Jr., Matthew, Brian, Travis, Jade, Seth, Gage, Noah, Cole, Dylan, Danae, Justice and Taran; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, James, Donald and Kevin Hoyt; sisters, Marjorie Brown and Carolyn Frikart; and many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Lila's life will be held on Tues., Feb. 2, at 1:00 p.m. at the Eagle's club.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her family.

Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave., is assisting the family with arrangements.
