Lillian J. Gustafson, 84, of Superior, Wis. died Wed., January 26, 2011 in Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, Minn.

Lillian was born January 23, 1927 in Trego, Wis., to Frank and Lydia (Booth) Featherly. She had lived most of her life in Superior and had graduated from Superior Central High School in 1944.

Lillian retired from U.W.-Superior as a purchasing agent after eighteen years of service.

She was a member of Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church, was an active member of the Women of the Moose where she was recorder and Senior Regent. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary No. 71.

Lillian is survived by two daughters, Debra C. (Todd) Frey of Hoyt Lakes, Minn. and Jodi L. (Ryan) Keranen of South Range, Wis.; a son, Ronald L. (Kay) Gustafson of Superior; eight grandchildren, Randy, Patrick and Brandon Gustafson, Cheryl Willis, Bryan and Brianna Frey and Holly and Heather Syring; eleven great-grand children; two sisters, LaNora Rowberry of Upland, Calif. and Doris Denniger of Minong, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard in 1985; her brothers, Ted, Clifford, Donald and Bernie Featherly; a sister, Charlotte Mc Dowell; and a special friend, Don Colpaert.

Family visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday in Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church. Public visititation will begin with a Women of the Moose Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service with Rev. Dr. Mark Hillmer officiating. Committal prayers will take place at Graceland Cemetery. Downs Funeral Home, corner of Ogden Ave. & 19th St., is assisting the family with arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Todd and Bryan Frey, Ryan Keranen, Paul Simone and Patrick and Brandon Gustafson.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Solvay Hospice House.
