Lillian E.
Lisak
April 29, 1927 – September 28, 2025
Lillian E. Lisak, 98, of Superior, died Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Dove Health Care in Superior.
Lillian was born in Minneapolis on April 29, 1927, the daughter of William and Julia (Larsen) Nelson.
The family made their home in Superior when Lillian was a young child. She later attended Superior Central High School, and after leaving school, she became part of the women's workforce of the era. Lillian took pride in her work at Duluth Avionics and later at Jeno's. Known for her strong work ethic, she often held multiple jobs and instilled those same values in her family.
Lillian was very athletic, playing softball, figure skating, and bowling. She was also an avid sports fan who loved to watch the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Los Angeles Lakers.
In retirement, Lillian and her husband John cherished many joyful years together as snowbirds, spending summers in Superior and winters in Desert Hot Springs, CA.
Lillian had a generous heart. She loved sharing sweet treats and coffee with friends, delighted in trips to the casino with her sisters and daughter, and especially treasured every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whatever their talent—whether in sports, music, or school—she was always their biggest fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Roland Roy; second husband, John Lisak; siblings, William Nelson and Evelyn LeMunyon; and brother-in-law, Ernest Dalbec.
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Judy Hack of Superior; stepson, Steve Paulus of Cloquet; grandchildren, Christian (Suzanne) Hack of Waco, TX, Jamie (Dan Jankowski) Hack of London, England, and Lindsay (Matt) Netland of Superior; great grandchildren, Shay and Payton Hill, Hailey, Emmie, and Libby Hack, Avery Jankowski, Thor, Nelson, and Talulah Netland; siblings, Eleanor Dalbec of Superior, and Norma (Don) Larson of Superior; sister-in-law, Annie Hill of Superior; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful nurses and staff at Dove Health Care and Moments Hospice. Their compassionate care ensured that Lillian was comfortable and treated with dignity throughout her final days.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 3rd from Noon until the 1:00pm funeral service at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St. with Fr. Andrew P. Ricci as celebrant. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
