Linda M. Fender, 77, of Superior, died peacefully Sunday, June 26, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospice, Duluth, surrounded by family.

She was born February 19, 1945, in Duluth, MN, to Benedict and Mabel (Tobin) Varhalla.

On June 18, 1966, in Duluth, MN, Linda M. Varhalla and Martin W. Fender were united in marriage.

Linda worked many years in food service for the Superior School District.

In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, gardening, reading, creating stained glass, and spending time with family and friends.

Linda was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church, Superior.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

She is survived by her husband of over 56 years, Martin "Marty" Fender; daughter, Julie (James) Bell, Eden Prairie, MN; son, Mark (Julie) Fender, Superior; grandchildren, Alayna, Derek, and David, all of whom she was extremely proud; sisters, Sharon Wallace, Darlington, SC, Eileen Varhalla, Stacy, MN, and Cheryl (George) Garthus, Duluth, MN; brother, Larry Varhalla, Duluth, MN; several nieces and nephews, and her dog, Max.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Holy Assumption Catholic Church, Superior. Reverend Father Andrew Ricci will be the celebrant.
