Lisa Marie Stien, age 59, surrounded by family and friends, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the Sunnyside Home in Superior, where she lived with her lifelong friends, Susie, Jenny, Paul, Kenny and Mark.

Lisa was born in Duluth, MN on October 21, 1965. She was the daughter of Donald T. and Mary Kathryn (Auer) Stien.

After the death of her father in 1976, Lisa moved to Jefferson, WI where she attended the St. Coletta School for Exceptional Children. After graduating she moved back to Superior to be near family and worked for the Challenge Center until her death.

Lisa lived a full active life. She especially enjoyed traveling, swimming and bowling. She participated in the Special Olympics and won many awards.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Donald R. and Kathleen Stien; brothers-in-law, June Charles and Gary Willis; and niece Alicia Hatlestad.

Lisa is survived by her three sisters Shirley Charles of Duluth, Lynda (James) Carlson of Superior, Connie (Richard) Johnson of Superior; and brother Jim (Joan) Stien of Superior; nieces and nephews Steve (Carmen) Willis, Sheryl (Craig) Johnson, June (Cheryl) Charles, Leah (Rob) Turell, Jennifer (Duane) Polson, Jolene (Brian) Erola, Mason Stien, Jesse Stien, Melissa Stien, and Jon Stien.

A Celebration of Lisa's Life will be held at the Challenge Center on December 10th and a private family gathering on December 22nd.
