Obituary

Lloyd G. Woodhull, Sr. 91, of Poplar, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Lloyd was born in Superior on October 27, 1918 the son of Charles and Beda Woodhull.

Lloyd worked for the Great Northern Elevators in Superior and retired as a foreman. He loved to fish and enjoyed many trips to Crane Lake with his family and friends. Lloyd also enjoyed planting and growing his garden. He gave away almost as much as he kept and sure loved eating the fruits of his labor, especially those tomatoes.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Pearl (Hyde); five sons, Charles (Annette), David, William (Joy), Kenneth (Samantha) and Lloyd "George", Jr. (Julie); six daughters, Sandy Duzinske, Sandra Faye, Donna (Curt) Pearson, Susan (Fran) Van Ert, Bonnie Woodhull and Lisa Peters; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Brian "Woody" and Gary; his brothers, Amnon, Mervin, Orville, Robert, Douglas and Lewis; and his sisters, Frances Lambert and Florence Leslie.

A memorial service will be held on Monday February 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Lay Minister James McCusker of Darrow Road Wesleyan Church will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Poplar Cemetery.
