Lois Hedberg, 99, formerly of Superior, died on June 7,2025 at Westfield Hospital, New Richmond, WI.

She was born on Sept 2, 1925, in Hayward, WI daughter of Oscar and Ruth Anderson.

Lois Anderson and Hjalmer Hedberg were married on Sept. 9, 1944, in Drummond, WI and were able to celebrate 68 years together. She enjoyed making their home cozy, warm and welcoming.

She was employed by the Red Owl Store in Superior as a cashier and bookkeeper for 25 years.

Lois was a member of Bayside Baptist Church (Ogden Avenue Baptist Church) for over 70 years. She loved her church and served in various capacities.

She loved and enjoyed her family and was very interested in each of them. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was loved by them and will be missed.

Preceding her in death was her husband, her parents; brother Oscar; and her sisters Helen and Marjorie.

Survivors include her daughter Ruthann (David) Hammerbeck, Houlton, WI; grandsons Christopher (Sandi) Hammerbeck, Shoreview, MN and Eric Hammerbeck, Boise, ID; five great grandchildren, Ella, Levi, Olen, Hattie and Harper as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. Celebration of Life service, Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Bayside Baptist Church, 3915 N. 16th St., Superior.

Following the service, committal prayers will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.

Downs Funeral Home, 1902 N. 34th St., Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
