Lois Virginia Pedersen, 92, of Superior, Wis. peacefully went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wed., Mar. 28, 2012 at St. Francis in the Park.

Lois was born Apr. 23, 1919 to Iver and Carrie Pedersen in her beloved Billings Park. She was a member of the class of 1937 of Superior Central High School. Lois became a registered nurse, graduating from St. Luke's School of Nursing.

She answered the call to serve her country as an Army nurse during WWII. After the war, she heard another call, to serve her Heavenly Father. She received a degree in Theology from Concordia College and served the Lord as a Lutheran missionary in Japan for 26 years. On her return, Lois served Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Billings Park as a parish worker for many years until her retirement.

Her wonderful spirit and enthusiasm will be remembered forever by family and friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ralph, Eugene and Ken Pedersen; and sisters, Harriet Wiseman and Lorraine Wright.

She is survived by her brother, Donald Pedersen of Sun City, Ariz. and many nieces and nephews, who all adored their "very special, Aunt Lois". God Bless---

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. hour of her funeral service in Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Mon., Apr. 2nd with Rev. Sarah Kerkes officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

Downs Funeral Home, corner of Ogden Ave. & 19th St. is assisting the family with arrangements.
