Loretta June Charles, 85, of Superior, Wis. died Sat., Feb. 21, 2015 in the Solvay Hospice House, Duluth, Minn.
She was born June 2, 1929 in Superior to Joseph and Laura Fisher.
She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and had been employed by the Thompson Clinic in Dolton, Ill. as a secretary/receptionist.
Loretta is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Debbie (Jim) McDonnell of Saginaw, Minn.; her son, Jim (Laurie) Bonner of Hobart, Ind., grandchildren, Tom (Samantha) Moder, Jeremy McDonnell, Lisa (Cory) Hamscher, Brianne (Evan) Bibakis; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Julia, Caden, Carter, Callia, and Maximos; four step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carole Stafford of Hickory, N. C.
Loretta was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was kind and cared about everyone she met. She was a fantastic cook and baker, enjoyed gardening and loved to travel anywhere by car on short trips.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the 4:00 p.m. memorial service today, Feb. 24th in the Downs Funeral Home Chapel, corner of Ogden Ave. & 19th St., with Rev. Fr. Andrew P. Ricci, Rector of Cathedral Of Christ The King officiating. Committal prayers will be held in the spring at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Loretta's name may be made to the Solvay Hospice House, the Golden Living Center, or the Alzheimer's Assoc.
