Loretta L. ("Lorrie" and "LuLu") Larson, 90, of Superior, died Friday, December 3, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth.

She was born July 3, 1931, in Superior, daughter of Peter and Margaret (Ponkow) Nelson.

She attended Bennett School.

On September 13, 1949, Loretta Nelson and Fred Foerst were united in marriage. Fred died on December 30, 1978.

Her work history included 13 years at Barker's Island, 4 years at St. Mary's Hospital, and then retired.

In 1980 Loretta married Jack Larson.

In addition to Fred, she was preceded in death by her mother in 1945; father in 1996; and son, Tom.

Loretta is survived by her husband, Jack Larson; children, Rick (Julie) Foerst, Mike (Cathy) Foerst, Margie (Ron) Berg, and Lori (Marvin Krogerson) Jamison, all of Superior; sister, Kay McLish of Maryland; brother, William "Bill" Nelson of Solon Springs; 10 grandchildren, Alyson, Angela, Nikki, April, Jenny, Holly, Chelsey, Logan, Brandon, and Eric; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her family meant everything in the world to her.

At her request, there will be no service at this time.

A private graveside service will be held next year.
