Obituary

Lorraine "Dolly" F. Miller, 96, longtime resident of Raleigh St. in West Duluth, died Thursday, November 6, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth surrounded by her family.

Dolly was born in Duluth on May 4, 1929, the daughter of George and Frances (Fister) Ujdur. She graduated from Duluth Denfeld High School with the class of 1947.

Dolly married Junior "Moe" Miller on March 31, 1951, and they had two daughters. She worked as a waitress for many years at the London House and Porter's Restaurant where she made many lifelong friends along the way.

She was a lifelong and active member of Good Shepard Church and then Holy Family Catholic Church where she was involved in activities including pasty making, funeral receptions, fall bazaars, rummage sales, and enjoyed the camaraderie amongst the ladies. She was a member of the American Legion and Rosary Society. She loved watching the Minnesota Twins.

Dolly had a very kind, giving, and energetic personality who could not sit still for too long. She took pride in her yard, loved being outside, and always found something to do. She was a wonderful cook and talented baker known for her Potica, toffee, and famous sugar cookie cutouts. Dolly was a proud woman, proud of her family, and proud of her Croatian heritage. Her family was most important to her and called her great-granddaughters her jewels.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Junior Lincoln "Moe"; brother, George (Lucille) Udjur; sister, Madeline (Edward) Miskulin; son-in-law, Dale Wickstrom; and grandson-in-law, Steve Arnovich.

Dolly is survived by her daughters, Patrice (Conrad) Erickson of Superior and Diane Wickstrom of Saginaw; granddaughters, Candace (Jeff) Cushman and Kalli (Jeff) Manion; great-granddaughters, Aili Arnovich, Madeline and Gabriella Manion; and many nieces and nephews.

We will never forget her loving smile, generous heart and warm soul. In honor of her Croatian heritage, DOVIDENJA (Until we meet again).
