Lorraine Jacobson, 88, of Superior, died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center, Superior.

She was born May 1, 1923 in Wisconsin, daughter of Edward and Jennie Branzell.

For many years she served as treasurer for the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a fantastic cook. Her holiday spreads were the stuff of legend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Russell in 1975; daughter, Sandra Strand; and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her granddaughter; Sheri (Darrell) Museus, Danbury, WI; grandson, Erin (Amy) O'Keefe, New Hope, MN; great-grandchildren, Dan, Brandon, Kelly, Maryeli, Carlos and Daniela; a great-great-granddaughter, Adalyn; son-in-law, Ron Strand, Bullhead City, AZ; sister, Jeanette (Gordon) Smith, Tennessee; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 11 until the 12 noon service, Monday, October 3, 2011 at the United Presbyterian Church, 229 N. 28th Street, Superior, with Reverend Joel Huenemann officiating.

Following the funeral service, everyone is invited to a luncheon in the fellowship hall.

The committal service at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, will follow the luncheon.

Pallbearers will be Dan Smiley, Darrell Museus, Erin O'Keefe, Ron Strand, Scott Myers and Adam Myers.

Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, is assisting the family with arrangements.
