Tenerelli

Downs Life Celebration Center
Starts at 12:30 pm (Central time)
Louis Donald “Don” Tenerelli, 77, of Superior, died Sunday May 10, 2026, at his residence.
Don was born in New York, the son of Louis Sr., and Lillian Tenerelli.
Don served his country during Vietnam enlisting in the US Army serving in Alaska.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida State University and forever kept his love for the marron and gold Seminoles alive! He was Vice President of Banking at Barrnett Bank in Florida where he met the love of his life, Kaye. Don then went on to continue his family's legacy acting as the President and CEO for Superior Lidgerwood Mundy before retiring in 1996.
Don was a proud Italian who lived his life sharing his love for music, fishing, and cooking memorable Italian meals for family and friends. The home he shared with Kaye was always open to anyone in need of a good meal, a glass of wine, or a hearty laugh. He loved teaching his grandchildren to play chess and cribbage, and he often broke out the crayons to encourage their artistic talents.
For many years, the aroma of garlic filled the Elk’s Club during his cherished annual tradition of hosting spaghetti dinners to feed the masses. Don was also an avid fisherman, beginning in his youth in Florida and later passing his love of fishing on to family and friends at his cabin in Northern Wisconsin. Summer holidays at the cabin were often spent preparing for his legendary rib feasts, where friends and family gathered together around great food and even better company.
Don also believed deeply in giving back to his community. He dedicated his time and service to many organizations and boards, including the Rotary Club, the National Bank of Commerce Board of Directors, St. Mary’s Hospital Board, and the Challenge Center in Superior.
Don was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Kaye Hope Tenerelli and his parents.
Don is survived by his children, Louis Sean (Amber) Tenerelli, Stanley Kent (Mary) Phillips, and Teresa Kaye Phillips; grandchildren Tommy Tenerelli, Stella Tenerelli, Anna Tenerelli, Erica (Chris) Milliken, Maxwell (Hannah) Phillips, Jensen (Elme Maree) DuPilka, Jenna (Tyler Zenner) DuPilka; great grandchildren Jack, Lauren, and Lilianna Milliken, Baker and Dex Phillips.
A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held on Saturday May 16th from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. with a time of remembrance at 12:30 with Fr. Andrew Ricci at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St. Interment will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Don's family is asking donations be sent in his name to the Douglas County Humane Society where he adopted Hogan.
