Lovella M. Regenfuss, 98, died peacefully of natural causes on July 19, 2022.
Lovella was born on April 16, 1924, in Minong WI, the daughter of William and Margaret Sampson.
She married Gordon Regenfuss on October 7, 1942, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage until his passing in 1993.
Lovella was a homemaker for many years until her family was raised. She then worked part time in the jewelry department at Roth Bros. store in Superior. While raising her family she was active in the Lincoln Elementary School P.T.A., the Onaway Club, the Superior Women's Club, The Iris Garden Club, the Tuesday afternoon Ladies Skating Club, Our Saviors Lutheran Church Lois Circle and the Our Saviors Couples Club. She also volunteered at the Superior Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed time with family and watching football, golf, ice skating, Dancing with the Stars and Shark Tank on TV.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, son Gary G Regenfuss, her seven siblings: Harvey Sampson, Robert Sampson, Betty Arneson, Marion Esterholm, James Sampson, John Sampson, and William Sampson.
Lovella is survived by her son, Michael (Ann) Regenfuss; daughter Jill (Gordy) Edgette; daughter-in-law Karen Regenfuss; 6 grandchildren: Shannon (Michael Councilman) Amundson, Jamie (Don) Williams, Kamie (Scott) Fultz, Mitch (Megan) Regenfuss, Matt (Tara) Edgette, Stacey (Casey Lott) Edgette and 10 great grandchildren: Kylie, Axel and Jace Amundson, Lexi and Lucas Williams, Libby Gale Fultz, Jack and Kate Regenfuss, Ace and Reese Edgette, and many nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at Downs Funeral Home per her wishes, with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Solvay Hospice House for their outstanding care and for making her final days so comfortable.
