SUPERIOR
Lucille R. Zawin, 90, of Superior, died Monday, December 14, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.
She was born December 17, 1918 in St. Paul, Minn., daughter of Van and Catherine Cushway.
Lucille was a graduate of Superior East High School.
Her work history included Leamon's Bakery and Superior Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of Hope Congregational Church, RSVP, Eagles Club and AARP. Some of her interests included volunteering and exercising at the Superior Douglas County Senior Center, writing poetry and verse, sailing, gardening and she was a very talented artist.
Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Chuck Staeben; and sisters, Lorraine Benson and Delores Kennedy.
Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie (Paul) Larson, Wascott, Wis., and Linda (Steve) Burke, Superior; son, Joseph Zawin, Superior; 7 grand- children; 5 great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirlee Carlson, Superior.
The visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home, with Reverend Michael Casperson, pastor of Hope Congregational Church officiating.
Pallbearers will be Mark Couture, Skip Couture, Greg Fair and Trevor Fair.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.
