Ludwig C. 'Bud' Carlson Jr., 84, of Superior, died Monday, April 4, 2016 at his residence.
Ludwig was born on Dec. 19, 1931 the son of Ludwig and Dorothy Carlson, Sr.
Bud served in the National Guard. He worked for ADM Grain Elevators for 34 years.
Bud (Pops to his grandkids) was a nature enthusiast who loved to be outdoors. Enjoyed cutting wood and selling his campfire wood, he spent many hours stacking his wood piles. He took great pride in planting his garden and trees. One of Bud's most beloved past times was to go to the cabin with 'Lil Bud'.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, LuAnn Carlson; grandson, Sean Malec; and brothers, Glen Carlson and Lyman Carlson; special grandchild, A.J. Conley.
Bud is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruie; children, Cindy Theien, Richard (Johnna) Carlson, Cathy (Carey) Malec, Ludwig 'Lil Bud' Carlson III, Linda Carlson, all of Superior and Sheri Carlson of Lakeville, MN; grandchildren, Bradley (Charissa) Theien II, Chrysa Theien, Jeff (Erin King) Petersen, Matthew (Lisa) Petersen, Carey John (Katie) Malec and Allison Malec, Brent, Marki, and Rocky Carlson, Logan, Chelsea and Brandon Foerst, and Maxwell and Taye Hinker; great-grandchildren, Teagen Theien and Aili and Elsi Peterson; sister, Caroline Kuhlman; and brother Ronald Carlson; brother-in-law's, Roger Stalvig, Jack Clark; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Dan) Aunet and Kathy Kimmes; dear family member, Bill Anderson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin on Friday April 8, from 11:00 a.m. until noon, when the memorial service will begin at Country Peace Presbyterian Church, 4694 S Cty Rd A, Superior. Rev. Richard Blood will officiate.
Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave., is assisting the family with arrangements.
