Luella Fay Burdick of Superior, WI (formerly of Foxboro and Solon Springs) passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Luella was born on December 20, 1927, in Superior, WI. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dale (Pete) Burdick; son, Patrick Burdick; parents, Zora and George Williams; and brothers, Earnie, David, Harvey, Lawrence and Charlie Williams. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Terry) Nolden and Jackie Burdick-Halberg; sisters, Leona (Williams) Hackensmith and Gertrude (Williams) Persons; grandchildren, Shann, Kyle, Amber, Christopher, Tenley (Jodie), Danielle and Tyesha; great grandchildren, Sienna, Dylan, Jacen, Jevonte, Taya, Quartz Del'Amber, Jayden, Lae'Thyn, Akira, Zaniya, Marte, along with many nieces and nephews.
Luella married Pete Burdick June 4, 1946, and settled in Foxboro, WI where they created a wonderful life for their children and farmed for 45 years. In addition to her devotion to family, farming and neighbors, Luella was a member of Douglas County Homemakers and Foxboro Garden Club, a leader of the Foxboro 4-H Club, and an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Superior. While living in Foxboro, Luella opened her own business, His & Her Tailoring in South Superior.
After retiring from farming, Luella and Pete moved to Solon Springs, WI where Luella was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Luella left her circle of friends in Solon Springs to move back to Superior, WI after her husband Pete passed away in 2007.
Luella impacted many, many lives and created fond memories for others through her devotion to family, friends and community. She will always be remembered for her hard work, selflessness, volunteerism and sense of humor.
Luella's family extends heartfelt gratitude to Moment's Hospice; especially Stephanie, Callie, Anno, Lexi, Emilie and Christine, for providing such compassionate, loving care.
A celebration of Luella's life will be held at Down's Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th Street, Superior, WI on Friday, November 29th at 11:00am followed by a luncheon. A private burial ceremony will be held at Summit Cemetery, Foxboro, WI, at a later date.
