Marcia (Cockson) Suoja, 72, died February 17, 2018 in North Carolina, with her daughters and granddaughter by her side.

Marcia was a lifelong resident of Superior. She spent most of her career at Chef's and The Library restaurants and in later years loved working with the kids in the cafeteria at Superior Senior High School. She was committed to helping those in need. She enjoyed traveling as much as possible, spending time with her many friends, and enjoyed being part of the Sisterhood of the Faded Swimsuits at the Superior YMCA. She was loved by many and was known for her smile, humor, and spunk. She was always up for new adventures.

Marcia is preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice and CT Cockson; her husband, Derald "Smokey" Suoja; her first husband, Jim Smith; second husband, Dennis "Goose" Lisdahl; and brother, Eugene Cockson.

She is survived by her daughters, Laurie Smith Paolicelli and Denise Lisdahl, both of North Carolina; son, Michael Smith of Superior; granddaughters, Cara Paolicelli, North Carolina, and Marisa Hall, Arizona; great-granddaughter, Esme Hall, Arizona; sisters, Julie (Warren) Hillestad, Kathy Schulties, and Patty (Tom) VanLandschoot; step-daughters, Lynn Suoja and Lisa (Tom) Moe; step-sons, Brad (Pam) Lisdahl and Mark (Debbie) Lisdahl; and many nieces and nephews.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with.

Visitation will be held Friday, 2/23 from 5-7 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19 ^th Street, Superior. Visitation will continue at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2316 E. 4 ^th Street, Superior, on Saturday, 2/24 at 10 until the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Sisterhood of the Faded Swimsuits.
