Margaret E. A. Waldin, 98, of Superior, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Golden Living Center, Superior.
She was born March 1, 1918 in Plaza, North Dakota, daughter of Andrew and Ragna (Staurseth) Waldin.
Margaret graduated from St. Paul Bible Institute and attended Moody Bible Institute. She went to Shanghai, China in 1947 and when the door closed there she went to Japan. She served with The Evangelical Alliance Mission. She worked with Word of Life Press, an organization which produced literature and distributed it throughout Japan and beyond. She retired in 1984 and returned to the Superior area.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Andrew and Ragna; her brother-in-law, Ken Lintelmann and a cousin, Robert Staurseth, both of Poplar; and several cousins in Norway.
Survivors include her sister, Ruth Lintelmann of Superior; cousins, Edward (Rhoda) Staurseth of Auburn, California, and Stephen (Delores) Staurseth of Superior; and three cousins in Norway.
Visitation will be from 9:30 until the 10:30 service, Saturday, October 29, 2016, at First Evangelical Covenant Church, 3311 Hammond Avenue, Superior. Reverend Luke Oliver will officiate.
The family invites everyone to a luncheon at the church immediately following the service. After the luncheon, the burial will be held at Poplar Cemetery, Poplar.
In lieu of flowers gifts may be made to T.E.A.M. (Margaret's mission) or to Child Evangelism Fellowship.
The family thanks all the staff at Golden Living and Hospice for their tender care of Margaret. We also thank the Chinese Church, family and friends who visited her often.
