Obituary

Margaret Alice Selleck, 94, a lifelong resident of Superior, Wis. passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2010 at St. Francis in the Park Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Margaret was born on July 20, 1916, the daughter of Theresa (Winters) and Maurice Moran. She was born and raised in Superior's east end at 2526 E. 7th St. and has resided at St. Francis for only the past five years.

Margaret married James Wade Selleck on July 24, 1937. They celebrated over 56 years of marriage until his death on Sept. 23, 1993. They enjoyed wintering in Tarpon Springs, Fla. with many of the friends they made at the Moose Lodge of which they were members. Margaret was a member of the Women of the Moose-Superior Chapter No. 795 since 1974.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; an infant daughter, Susan Rae Selleck in 1946; and sisters, brothers and their spouses, Albertina Olson, Evelyn Brown, and Thomas, Ralph and Edward Moran.

She is survived by her sons, James E. Selleck of Superior, David G. (Jolene) Selleck of Spring Brook, Wis.; daughter Judith (Fred) Piper of Superior; grandchildren, Jeff (Nicole) Selleck of Mulligan, Mich., Corina (Gerald) Kolanczyk of Chetek, Wis., Dana (Michael) Kiesner of St. Michael, Minn., Dale (Tina) Piper of Sauk Rapids, Minn. and Cara (Brian) Curry of Finland, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Derek Robins, Rachael and Charles Kolanczyk, Jack, Steven and Abby Jo Kiesner, Trentin and Alayna Piper, Jacob and Tyler Curry and Caitlain and Elyse Selleck; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Her funeral service will be Mon., Nov. 29th at 1:00 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. & Ogden Ave. with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci, Rector of Cathedral of Christ the King as officiant. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service with the WOTM memorial service conducted at 12:45 p.m. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at St. Francis, especially the 2nd floor, for all of the love shown them and their mother and for taking such excellent care of their mother while she was a resident there.
