Margaret T. Smith, 97, of Superior, died Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Twin Ports Health Services.
Margaret was born in Superior on March 17, 1922, the daughter of John and Rose Stefanko. She graduated from Superior Cathedral High School.
She worked at the East End Clinic for many years, working with insurance and later as office manager. She was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church where she served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of the St. Francis Travelers. Margaret enjoyed shopping, traveling and casino trips. She loved to dance with her husband, Bill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry 'Bill' Smith; daughter, Julie Ann Marincel; son-in-law, Ron Fanetti; sisters, Mary Stefanko and Pauline Tyson; brother, James Stefanko; sisters-in-law Eleanor Stefanko and Lois Smith; brothers-in-law, Leo Timmerman, Francis Smith and Leo Weisbaum; and a nephew, James Timmerman.
Margaret is survived by her children, Dennis (Wendy Ness) Smith of Superior; Mary Kay Fanetti of Eau Claire, WI; son-in-law, Thomas Marincel of Ashland, WI; grandchildren, Beth (Shawn) McGee, Jon Fanetti, Cody Marincel, Colin Marincel, Andrew Smith, Jordan Smith and Devin Smith; brother, Joseph Stefanko; sisters, Angeline Timmerman, Dorothy (Russell) Heytens; sister-in-law, Georgiann Stefanko; special friend, Kim Yeager; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday Oct. 4 from 10:00 until the 11:00 Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Assumption Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Ronald Olson as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Twin Ports Health Services and Essentia Hospice for their loving care of Margaret.
If desired, memorials in Margaret's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Holy Assumption Church.
