Marie Y. Anderson, 79 of Superior, WI died on Thursday, February 8, 2024, in her home.

Marie was born January 26, 1945, in Superior to Fern (Gedde) and Arvid Anderson.

She was employed at the Challenge Center for many years.  In her earlier years, Marie was one of the first Special Olympics participants in the area. Marie loved to tell stories. Marie enjoyed spending time at the local coffee shops and always looked forward to having a piece of pie. Marie had a love for animals, especially dogs.

Marie always greeted those she loved with open arms and a huge smile.  She has been a longtime resident of Mountain View Home.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Dorothy Jerome; her brothers, Frank and Robert Anderson; and her special friend Richard.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Anderson; her good friends, Maxine, and Delores; the staff at the Challenge Center and her Mountain View family.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at First Evangelical Covenant Church, 3311 Hammond Ave., Superior at 11:00 a.m.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church.  Rev. Fred Flatten will be officiating.
