Marie D. Kossic, 88, died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Essentia Health-Miller Dwan, Duluth.

She was born on January 20, 1933 to Irma (Melcher) and Claus Droege in Horicon, WI.

Marie, along with her husband Robert, owned and operated Kossic's 66 gas station in Superior. Together, they also owned Kossic's Small Engine and U-Haul. After retiring, Marie enjoyed spending her time gardening and tending her flowerbeds, reading, and watching the wildlife on the farm.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert in 2006, and her parents.

Survivors include two daughters, Kriz (Dave) Kossic of Superior, and Kim (John) Shank of Sioux City, IA; two grandsons, Nick (Carrie) Shank of Willow River, MN, and Jason (Chelsea) Shank of Sturgeon Lake, MN; four great granddaughters, Lilly, Roxie, Taylor and Dawsyn; and one uncle, Richard (Ann) Melcher of Superior.

A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery at noon on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 with Fr. James Tobolski officiating.
