Obituary

Marilyn M. Burm, 97, of Superior, died Monday, September 28, 2026, at Villa Marina Health and Rehab in Superior.

Marilyn was born at home in Billings Park to Clara (Bartels) and Al Kronlund on February 26, 1929. She attended Cooper school and graduated from Superior Central High School.

Marilyn was a member of Cathedral Christ the King and married her husband, Milton there in 1947. They were married 59 years before his death in 2006. They traveled to Europe, Hawaii, Canada, and all over the United States.

As a lifelong Superior resident, she was active in starting the women’s softball league in Superior, loved ceramics, bowling, woodworking, and traveling with her family. Marilyn was an avid Vikings fan.

She was a member of the former Royal Neighbors of America Dewy Camp No. 1175. Marilyn was a past oracle of the camp and held the post of Marshall for many years.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Milton Burm; parents, Al and Clara Kronlund; sister, Joyce Laberdie; twin brothers, Daryl and Dale Kronlund; son in-law, Rick Rugg and two special dogs, Zippy and Magen.

She is survived by her children, James (Sandra) Burm, Richard (Rita) Burm, Cynthia Rugg, Tom Burm and Claudia Hagen; grandchildren, Lisa Bill, Eric (Bonnie) Bestie, Rich (Rachelle) Burm, Matt (Kelly) Burm, Nicole (Jeremy) Linstad, J.R. (Melissa) Rugg, Bradley (Andrea) Rugg, Becky Haase and Sheri Salm; 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 funeral service at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St, Superior with Fr. Andrew Ricci as officiant.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
